About the Role

Medtronic's Galway facility — one of the largest medical device manufacturing sites in the world — is offering engineering co-op placements for University of Galway students in 2026. Placement students are embedded in R&D, manufacturing, or process engineering teams, contributing to real projects that directly support the development of life-saving devices.

What You'll Do

Provide daily technical support to an assigned engineering department
Carry out a defined placement project with progress reviews agreed with your supervisor
Collect and analyse process or product data using statistical methods (Minitab, MATLAB)
Ensure all documentation meets Medtronic's quality and compliance standards

Currently enrolled at University of Galway in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline
Strong analytical and data skills; Minitab or MATLAB experience is an advantage
Collaborative team player with attention to detail
Must be eligible to work in Ireland for the full placement duration
